FROM THE ORGANIZER:
The legendary San Francisco Stand-Up Comedy Competition will return to El Campanil in a big way during 2022, kicking things off Saturday, January 15th, with performances by three past winners of the event and a recent finalist, special guest Chelsea Bearce.

Yes, all on one show, the two most recent champs, Ryan Goodcase and Sterling Scott, presented by host (and Pittsburg native) Johnny Steele, another top finisher in his own right. It’s doesn’t get any funnier than a show of this caliber.

Come out over Martin Luther King weekend to laugh at and with Best of the SF Comedy Competition. Then find out what else the Comedy Competition has in store for Antioch later in the year.

About The Artists

STERLING SCOTT is a rising star in the Canadian comedy scene and a crowd favourite. His most recent accomplishments on and off the stage include, being signed by Kevin Hart and the LOL network to a development deal, Winner of the San Francisco Comedy Competition, a performance on Crave’s Stellar Stand ups, a track on the Just for Laughs 2018 premium album, multiple national televised performances on CBC and CTV as well as two comedy albums, and a podcast entitled “the comedy reject” which are available on all streaming platforms.

From his humble beginnings in the Midwest, RYAN GOODCASE has since taken to the mic to make his quiet, awkward voice heard. Praised for his smart writing and dry delivery, Ryan became the youngest person to win the World Series of Comedy in 2019. Since then he has also won the 45th San Francisco International Comedy Competition in 2021 and become a paid regular at The Punchline San Francisco, Cobb’s Comedy Club, Laughs Unlimited, and dozens of other clubs across the country. He’s performed at The Motor City Comedy Festival, The Santa Cruz Comedy Festival, and was named Oakland Comedy Machine’s 2018 Tournament of Champions winner. You may also recognize him as the actor playing an apathetic Bed, Bath & Beyond employee in a series of comedic online commercials.

CHELSEA BEARCE
got her comedy start in Los Angeles and quickly headed to New York, where she performed at over a dozen comedy clubs regularly, including Gotham Comedy Club, New York Comedy Club, Broadway Comedy Club, and Caroline’s, where she performed along-side Darrell Hammond. She also studied at Upright Citizens Brigade in both their sketch program and improv program. Her blend of observational comedy and self-deprecation combined with her comfortability with talking to the audience and making them comfortable enough to make fun of themselves too, makes for a very enjoyable time had by all. Chelsea has written multiple parodies as well, including Curvy (which went viral), came in third place in the 45th SF International Comedy Competition, created and produces a weekly online game show called Who Wrote This S#!T?, and is the mother to an amazing five-year old named Chance.

Bay area native JOHNNY STEELE has been a comedian, comedy writer, broadcaster, actor, and keynote speaker, for over 30 years. Johnny’s performed stand up comedy across the US, Canada, and overseas, and has been seen on MTV, A&E, Comedy Central, and PBS. Johnny has hosted his own daily morning radio and TV talk shows in San Francisco (KITS LIVE 105 radio, KRON/BAY TV’s The Show), written humor for folks ranging from Emmy award winning musicians to CEOs to Robin Williams, and can currently be seen in documentaries 3 Still Standing and Robin’s Wish.
