Shoppers in the Bay Area are once again confronted with empty store shelves.

ANTIOCH, CA. — Once again, here we go. If you've been to a grocery shop recently, you've definitely noticed that the shelves are growing increasingly bare. According to economists, the problem stems from people calling in ill with COVID and supply chain delays.

There are multiple variables causing bare shelves as opposed to one; this is overly simplistic logic. Sure, stock up and don't panic, but don't stop there. If necessary, get a freezer regardless of the expense, as freezers will become more expensive as food shortages persist. Invest in quality gardening tools. You'll need these.

No space for a garden? Join a community garden. Grow a herb garden in a window. Make a tiny garden in a half whiskey barrel on a patio or balcony. Learn how to bake bread. Check to see whether your area allows live chicken for eggs and if so, sell what you don't use. Purchase tiny fruit trees. Create a pantry. Grow a grapevine. People MUST cultivate something they can eat in order to balance the cost of the food they must buy.
